On our way to Badlands National Park, we had to stop at Wall Drug. This place has something for everyone, clothing, fire arms, jewelry, a large café, a courtyard full of animals, and yes, even a drug store. We spent at least an hour there, window shopping, eating a delicious lunch, and being silly. It is one of those roadside stops you gotta check out.

We didn’t really know what to expect at Badlands National Park. The terrain didn’t have the vibrant colors of some of the other parks we’ve seen, but it was amazing, nonetheless.
The contrast between the muted terrain and bright blue sky was awesome, and we loved that we could see so much of the park from the air conditioned cab of our truck.

Of course, we did leave the A/C so we could properly take in the amazing vistas. As beautiful as it was, we were certainly glad we weren’t exploring it on foot, and not only appreciated why it earned the name, but were in awe of those who once crossed that unfriendly land so many years ago.

Thanks, Erin and Mark. I’m always eager to hear from you. Happy Thanksgiving! Love, Aunt Roberta
