Wind Cave National Park was another beautiful park with wide open spaces. What was in those open spaces? More buffalo!

We ended up in a line of traffic you’d expect to find in Seattle, as the buffalo slowly moved from one field to another. There were so many of them crossing the road, or walking on the shoulder, that drivers had to put their vehicles in park and wait it out. We adjusted the remainder of our time in the park to avoid anymore viewing areas. Luckily, we had already seen quite a few of these critters, and skipping additional encounters wasn’t too painful for us.

We also made a little trip to Sturgis, and happened upon a few hundred mustangs. There were so many awesome cars to check out, from the vintage collector vehicles to the brand new, there was something for everyone to oooh and aaaah over.

Finally, we stopped in the gold rush town of deadwood, which was a fun place to explore, and people watch. We found the saloon where Wild Bill Hickok was killed by Jack McCall, and watched part of a staged shoot out in the center of town. It was a pretty fun way to spend our afternoon.
