We arrived at Devil’s Tower National Monument on a bright and sunny day, with a few clouds drifting through. We were thrilled to find a campsite with an amazing view of Devil’s Tower. The campground filled in shortly after our arrival, which made us realize how lucky we were to secure the spot with a premium view.

As clouds cleared away, the view from the kitchen got even better. Not a bad way to enjoy a meal, or just sit and take it all in.

There was a good sized prairie dog town a short walk from our campground. The trail looped around the perimeter, and we had a great time watching them pop in and out of their burrows. They let us know when the trail ventured too close for their comfort, barking at us until we had moved further away from their territory. It was a pretty fun experience.
The campground was one of our favorites, in that it not only had a great view of the focal point of the park, but also the prairie dog town.
