Lassen Volcanic National Park

Lassen Volcanic National Park was almost as beautiful as Mt. Rainier National Park.  We aren’t exactly sure, because even in June, many of the roads and trails were closed due to snow, we were told there was still over 25 feet of it on most of the closed roads, and all those closures significantly impacted our ability to get around.  Even at the (somewhat) lower elevations, we saw side roads with at least ten feet of snow on them.

We explored as much as we could, and what we were able to see was ridiculously gorgeous.  While we don’t like being in the cold snow, it sure makes everything look amazing.

After exploring as much of the park as we could, we made a quick stop at Squaw Valley, then on to to Lake Tahoe, for more chilly beauty.
