Yosemite National Park

Kings Canyon NP-Edit-6491

Our journey to Yosemite National Park included a little side trip back to Kings Canyon, where we saw a mama bear and her very tiny cubs.  It looked like she was trying to show them where to find tasty treats under and around stumps and logs.  Her kids were busy bouncing off trees and each other.   We alternated between being in awe of the cute fuzzy family, and giggling at the antics of those cubs.

The drive into Yosemite had us holding our breath as we passed through tunnels and rock formations.  The park really is quite beautiful.  It was also very crowded.  We couldn’t find a parking space the day we arrived, so instead, we found a campground outside the park, and made our plans to return first thing in the morning.

The next day, the park’s shuttles took us to various trail heads and viewpoints, where we could relax by the river, and joined a group of people who gathered to watch climbers on El Capitan.   The second photo above shows zoomed in detail of some of the many climbers on the face. (also added some arrows to make it easier to find the climbers).

There were so many waterfalls, streams, and rivers in this park.  Each seemed to be even more beautiful than the last.  It is easy to see why so many people are drawn here every year.
